Description
Various multi-phase flow system is commonly used in industrial process, and it is necessary to measure and control the flow velocity for optimizing the performance of the process. But traditional flow measurement technique by turbines, pressure gauges, voltex detection, and so on cannot be used in the multi-phase flow system. In this study, some experiments were carried out to optimize flow measurement technique based on the cross-correlation function with two sealed gamma sources for multi-phase flow system. Some air was inserted in the lab-scale flow system for making the liquid-air two-phase flow system, and the reference flow velocity was measured by radiotracer technique to compare to the results of the cross-correlation technique. The first result shows that the shorter the distance between two detectors is, the better result the technique provide because the distribution of second particle in the flow could be changed between the detectors. The second result shows that the wider width of collimator holes which is perpendicular to the flow direction provide the more accurate velocity
