Assessment of dynamic testing of shutdown systems at KAPS

  • 1. Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Bombay (India)

Description

During the initial commissioning of Kakrapar Atomic Power Station No.1, dynamic testing of shutdown systems, primary and secondary, (PSS and SSS) was carried out as part of the low power physics (Phase-B) measurements. The worth, reactivity insertion timings and the initial actuation delays are the important inputs for analyses of the results of dynamic testing of shutdown systems. The results of the experiments have been analysed using a computer code HYDRAX. The present paper brings out the comparison between calculated and measured values in the dynamic testing of shutdown systems and the accuracies of the design predictions against measurements.
