Interaction cross section of slow neutrons with CO2 near a critical point of vaporization

Description
The gravitation effect near a critical point of CO2 evaporation is investigated by the method of slow neutron (λ=1.5 A) transmission. The curves of height dependence of transmission at different temperatures are integrated by means of spline quadrature. The results obtained give evidence that total cross section of slow neutron interaction with CO2 molecules with 1% error doesn't depend on proximity to the critical point: liquid - vapour
