IAEA seminar on radionuclide generator technology
Creators
Description
The seminar was held in Vienna on October 13-17, 1986 with the participation of 80 specialists who heard 51 papers. Greatest attention was devoted to reactor radionuclide generators. The papers were focused on target preparation, the specific activity of the prepared generator, radionuclide purity and the ease of separation of the daughter radionuclide. The greatest number of papers was devoted to the preparation of 99Mo-99mTc. The papers dealt with the production of 99mTc from fission molybdenum and the preparation of sorption generators of technetium, the extraction technology of 99Mo production, the development of 99mTc sublimation generators and the research of the 99mTc gel generator which is being developed in Australia, India and Czechoslovakia. Several papers dealt with the quality of 99mTc for kit labelling. Great attention was also devoted to cyclotron radionuclide generators. (E.S.)
