Radiographic findings of joint protheses in the hand and wrist

Description
The radiographic diagnosis of normal and abnormal findings following total joint replacement of joints at the wrist, fingers and carpal bones is presented and discussed. Knowledge of the surgically wanted and/or achieved position of the implanted material and its relation to the neighboring bone is essential for proper radiologic evaluation of possible complications, such as infection, loosening, luxation or subluxation and fracture. Abstract (German)
Die Roentgendiagnostik der post-operativen Normalsituation sowie von Komplikationen bei Einsetzen einer Totalprothese des Handgelenkes, von Fingergelenkprothesen und Karpalknochenimplanaten wird dargestellt. Die Kenntnis der durch die Operationstechnik bestimmten Beziehung zwischen Implanat und Knochen ist dabei die grundlegende Voraussetzung fuer die radiologische Diagnostik von Komplikation wie Prothesenlockerung, -luxation und -fraktur.
