Description
The paper describes a diaphragm having a continuously adjustable aperture in the central opening and consisting of two rings and covering components. To reduce the effect of disturbances introduced during operation, the covering components can be made, for example, in the form of short wires stretched between the rings and forming a ''treadmill''-type construction with them. The covering components are fastened on the rings in several rows. The diaphragm is a structural element of a linear accelerator and can be used for continuously adjustable variation of the beam aperture when a number of physical experiments are being performed
