The rotational band of the 236U shape isomer
- 1. Niels Bohr Institutet, Copenhagen (Denmark)
- 2. Washington Univ., Seattle (USA)
Description
The 116 ns shape isomer in 236U has been populated in the 235U(d, p) reaction and conversion electrons emitted in advance of fission fragments have been detected. The measured transition energies fit a rotational spectrum with (h/2π)2/2I = 3.36 +- 0.01 keV. (Auth.)
