Radiochemical precipitation of Strontium-82 from the irradiated rubidium target

  • 1. Inst. Radioehkologicheskikh Problem, Minsk (Belarus)

Description

The technique of radiochemical precipitation of strontium isotopes from irradiated target of metallic rubidium has been developed. The technology includes the metallic rubidium dissolution in isobutanol, the destruction of rubidium isobutanolate by hydrochloric acid, the organic admixture disposal and strontium isotopes isolation on the ion-exchange column. Data of gamma-spectrometric analysis of 82Sr isotopically pure solutions on different stages of target processing are cited. The chemical output of 82Sr - 75-85%, the decontamination factor of 82Sr from rubidium isotopes not less than 105. (Author)
