Radionuclide venography: rapid dynamic visualization of the venous system
- 1. Univ. of Washington, Seattle
Description
Although contrast phlebography remains the diagnostic standard for detection of thrombophlebitis, patient discomfort and other factors limit routine use of venography for screening or follow-up purposes. Furthermore, the iliofemoral veins and vena cava are not routinely visualized with this technique. This investigation assessed a relatively simple radionuclide method to visualize the major veins of the lower extremities and abdomen. (U.S.)
