Development of cooperative work support system for nuclear power plants

  • 1. Mitsubishi Electric Corp., Amagasaki, Hyogo (Japan). Industrial Electronics and System Development Lab.

Description

In a nuclear power plant, there are various staff members for plant control and maintenance, and they have different specialties and work in different places. In past systems, each system supported one task in the different sections. The authors think that collaboration among staff members is very important to decrease the staff workload. Therefore they have been developing a cooperative work support system for nuclear power plants, to realize effective communication between plant staff in distant places. This system provides the functions for sharing various plant information and supporting group decision, using multimedia technology and knowledge engineering
