Crossed beam studies of D+H2→HD+H: Translational energy dependence of the differential cross sections for backscattered products

  • 1. NIST, Gaithersburg, MD (USA)
  • 2. Univ. of Minnesota, Minneapolis (USA)

Description

High resolution crossed beam measurements for D+H2 have been carried out where a supersonic pulsed beam of H2 intersects a high energy, nearly monoenergetic beam of D atoms, derived from ArF laser photolysis of D2S, in the viewing region of a quadrupole mass spectrometer detector. Results for collision energies from 0.85 to 1.05 eV, where the TOF spectra show pronounced vibrational structure, will be discussed
