Survey of natural radionuclide contents in soil in Guangxi Zhuangzu Autonomous Region

Description

This paper reports the methods and results of investigation of natural radionuclides in soil in Guangxi Zhuangzu Autonomous Region. The collecting points of soil are same as the measuring points of γ radiation dose rate of environmental ground. 383 soil samples were collected and analysed by γ-spectrometry, of which 360 points were sited in uniformly distributed networks of size 25 km x 25 km. The results show that the area-weighted mean of 238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K was 53.0(+- 32.7), 53.1(+- 35.2), 69.1(+- 34.6) and 332.2(+- 234.4) Bq/kg. The content of 238U, 226Ra, 232Th, 40K in soil in an abnormal background area near 'Huashang-Guposhang' was 170, 184, 211, 766 Bq/kg
