Triple interaction of spiral density waves
Description
The nonlinear interaction of three tightly wound spiral density waves in a gaseous disk is considered, allowing for the possibility that the main wave may break up into a pair of waves on opposite sides of their corotation resonances. An expression is obtained for the growth rate of this breakup instability
