Phonon mediated image state electron decay at metal surfaces

Description

We present a theoretical investigation of the phonon mediated image state electron decay at Ag(100) and Cu(100) metal surfaces. The electron-phonon interaction contribution to the broadening (inverse lifetime) as well as electron-phonon coupling parameter λ are calculated. The energy and momentum resolved electron-phonon interaction spectral function for Cu(100) is also presented in order to interpret the obtained results
