Description
The first at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) of the large bore, 1.8 m SSC dipoles have been built and tested. The 2-D design of the coil, using the new, wider cables and the iron cross section are reviewed and the coil ends are described. Results from tests, including quench performance, magnetic field measurements and strain-gauge data are presented
