On the parametrized S-matrix approach to deep inelastic collisions
Description
Using a parametric form for the deep inelastic part of the reaction S-matrix and assuming Gaussian distributions for the quantities introduced by this parametrization, we derive a general form for the multidifferential cross-section. A comparison is made with related approaches. Single, double and triple differential cross-sections are calculated with respect to the scattering angle, energy loss and charge transfer. The relative importance of angular momentum coherence contained in the parametric form of the S-matrix and angular momentum correlation introduced by the statistics is discussed in some detail.
