Fugen operating experience, 6

Fugen is a heavy-water-moderated, boiling light-water-cooled, pressure tube type reactor and has a unique reactor characteristics, though its cooling system and turbine system are similar to that of BWR's. The one year commissioning tests and the following ten year's successful operation have demonstrated the stable operational characteristics as expected in the design stages. Ten year's operational performance has been supported by the reliable and proper operational procedures which have been reviewed on operational experiences. These procedures are documented in operational manuals and will contribute to establish the management of ATR plants. And now we are improving the plant operation by using computers. (author)
