Description

Complex formation in solution and the distribution in two-phase systems are strongly influenced by the chemical properties of the solvent. Especially the dielectric behavior and the polar character decide over the complex stability and the partition coefficients. The complex formation of rare earth (RE) and the transplutonium elements (TPuE) Am, Cm, Cf with α-hydroxyisobutyric acid (α-HIBA) in water-dioxane media is studied
