Accumulation of radon in a measuring chamber during different variants of measurement

  • 1. Democritos Nuclear Research Center, Athens (Greece)
  • 2. Sofia Univ. (Bulgaria). Dosimetry and Radiation Protection Lab.

Description

Accumulation of radon in a scintillation or ionization chamber has been studied on the basis of a simple general model. The expressions derived apply to a number of different procedures for determination of radon concentrations in air, water and soil gas. Certain conclusions have been drawn concerning, for instance, the selection of extraction procedure for single and for continuous measurements of radon in water. (author)
