Optimal analysis of the arrangement of fibers in wavelength-shifting fiber converter
Description
Wavelength-shifting fiber (WSF) converter has higher detection efficiency and better imaging quality than tranditional fast neutron converter, while the arrangement of fibers in WSF converter will directly affect the light output. This paper investigate the optimal arrange parameters by analytic method, the result shows that if the radius of fiber is 0.25 mm and the light attenuation coefficient is 2.21 mm-1, the optimal distance between fibers is 1.1∼1.2 mm. Since some postulations are used in calculation, the result needs to be confirmed by experiments. (authors)
