Evaluation of specific energy capacity and some other parameters of perspective radioisotope thermoelectric generators on the base of alpha-nuclides

Description

Results of evaluations of geometric, thermal and electric characteristics of radioisotopic thermoelectric generators (RITEG) on the base of alpha decay radioisotopes 210Po, 227Ac, 238Pu, 241Am, 242Cm, 244Cm for different service lives are presented. Specific energy capacity is evaluated on the unit of RITEG mass. Recommendations on preferable use of radioactive fuels are presented. It is shown that all the considered alpha decay nuclides can be used as RITEG fuel
