Determination of the upper critical field Bc2 in type-II superconductors from microwave magnetoresistance measurements

Description

It is shown that the analysis of microwave magnetoresistance curves in type-II superconductors can yield the upper critical field Bc2. With this novel method one can determine Bc2 values which largely exceed the maximum field of the magnet used in the experiment. In the YBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystal, Bc2 was measured up to 40 T, much higher than in any previous report. A crossover to a larger slope dBc2/dT was observed at lower temperatures. (orig.)
