Primary Gas Circuit Instrumentation. Dragon Project Report

Description

The gas used in the Primary Gas Circuit is helium. The hot gas coming from the core is divided in six streams in parallel and pumped by six Blowers through six Heat Exchangers and back to the core. In order to vary the flow of helium through the core and thereby the amount of heat removed from the core, the Blowers are driven by a Variable Frequency Generating Set. The amount of heat removed from the core and therefore the temperature of the gas at the core inlet, can also be controlled by the six By—pass Valves fitted in the six ducts from the Pressure Vessel to the Heat exchangers.
