Description

Geiger multiwire high-pressure microcounters are described, designed to detect ultraviolet and X-radiation at the two-coordinate spatial resolution of about 0.3 mm. The counter is filled with a working mixture (Ar with acetone vapours) under the pressure of 10 atm. The design of a microcounter two-way matrice is considered in detail and the method of its fabrication is described. Due to a high pressure of the working mixture the matrice counters operate independently of one another even in the Geiger mode. The amplitude of signals from anode wires is 0.5 V which permits considerable simplification of electronic methods of signal detecting and processing
