Book

A new proposal about the quark structure of nuclei

Creators

  • 1. Univ. Bonn, Bonn

Description

The aim of this contribution is to indicate that quantum chromodynamics (QCD) may lead to a new approach for a theoretical interpretation of fundamental nuclear properties. Within the framework of a first example it is shown that the characteristic features (including numerical values) of nuclear shells-structure which in conventional theory were determined with the help of rather extended and not quite satisfactory calculations, may be understood much more directly from a general quark theoretical viewpoint
