Two-dimenisonal X-ray detector based on microstrip and multiwire design

Description
In order to produce detectors providing good spatial resolution and high counting rates for synchrotron radiation scattering applications, the possibilities of gas-filled detectors with microstrip electrodes have been investigated. Three X-ray detectors have been built and tested. A two-dimensional detector combining features of microstrip technology and multiwire proportional counters (MWPC) is presented. The data acquisition system is based on the delay-line readout principle. (orig.)
