Finite β destabilization of skin size drift modes in Tokamaks
Creators

Description
Analysis based on integral equation formalism in the ballooning space indicates that the skin size drift mode with kθ = ωpe/c are destabilized by finite β. The maximum growth rate is of the order of the ion transit frequency and the thermal diffusivity based on mixing length estimate exhibits favourable isotope effects
