Proceedings of the workshop on siting of radioactive waste repositories in geological formations

The objectives of this workshop were: to review the approaches used in NEA Member countries for the siting of repositories; to consider what information is required to determine whether a particular location is suitable as a disposal site; to review the technical means that can be used to obtain the necessary information; to discuss possible approaches for effectively communicating to the public the results of the site characterisation process. The papers and discussions at the meeting are recorded in these proceedings which provide a synthesis of the present thinking in this field
