Development of equipment for fast reactor fuel reprocessing

  • 1. Reprocessing Development Laboratory, Reactor Research Centre, Kalpakkam

Description

The paper highlights the development work carried out in our laboratory on process equipment for reprocessing. The development efforts cover a wide variety of equipment needed for head-end feed clarification, solvent extraction, and off-gas treatment, in addition to auxiliary systems such as metering of radioactive fluids, etc. All these equipment items along with auxiliary systems are integrated into a single-cycle facility to serve as a test bed for engineering evaluation. Analyses of plant design concepts are also presented
