Description
Interaction has been studied of a freshly prepared solution of uranium hexafluoride in acetonitrile with some sulfur-containing reagents (hydrogen sulfide, diethylsulfide, ethanedithiol, thiocarbamide, dithiooxamide) at room temperature. It has been established that, as a result of the interaction, uranium is reduced, and acetonitrile adducts of uranium tetrafluoride are formed. The shift of (CN) valence vibration frequencies of infrared spectra relative to that of pure acetonitrile is indicative of a coordination bond between uranium and acetonitrile via the nitrogen atom. In UF5x2SC(NH2)2 and UF4xSC3N5H5 adducts coordination uranium-sulfur bond occurs
