Charged particle linear accelerator
Description
The invention is aimed at improving the degree of monochromatization and at decreasing the length of the drift chamber of a linear accelerator used as an injector for the circular accelerator. The linear accelerator consists of a consequent assembly of the basic accelerating path, the drift chamber where bunches of particles are to be rearranged according to their energies and the monochromatizing section, specifically, between the drift chamber and the basic accelerating path there is a section for modulating the average energy of the bunches and the drift chamber is placed between the poles of beam-bending magnets. Parameters of the linear accelerator providing for +-0.2% monochromatization are given. The accelerator is capable of providing efficient multiple injection and of increasing the coefficient of capture of particles in the circular electronic synchrotrone
