Description

As a tool for operando catalyst structure analysis, near ambient pressure hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation is reviewed. The results of polymer electrolyte fuel cells and CO2 reduction catalysts are summarized. In the measurement of electrochemical cell, the electrolyte potential can be measured in addition to usual information like binding energies. The practical maximum gas pressure and temperature for the analysis of heterogeneous catalysts are also discussed. (author)
