Description

The semi-organic crystalline material of potassium hydrogen phthalate L-threonine (KHPLT) was synthesized by a slow evaporation method. The crystalline properties of the grown title compound were studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction studies. The FTIR analysis was used to identify the various functional groups which were presented in the grown material. The grown crystalline material lower cut-off wavelength at 309 nm was found using the UV-vis-NIR study. The fluorescence properties have been studied by PL study. The second harmonic generation study has been done by the grown crystalline material, and its values are tabulated. The thermal properties such as thermal stability and melting point of the title compound were studied by TGA/DTA analyses. Using the Vickers microhardness analysis, the mechanical properties have been studied. Variation of dielectric constant and loss of the synthesized material as a function of frequency was studied at four different temperatures. The microstructure and crystal morphologies of the synthesized KHPLT materials were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). (author)
