The Equation of State from Lattice QCD

Description

Numerical results on the QCD equation-of-state from lattices with temporal extents 4, 6 and 8 are presented. The computations have been performed within two different discretization schemes, the p4 and the asqtad actions which improve lattice artefacts for thermodynamic observables at high temperatures. In the course of these computations also observables that are sensitive to deconfinement and chiral symmetry restoration were analyzed. In addition, quantities measuring fluctuations and correlations of baryon number, strangeness and electric charge have been studied. (author)
