Oxygen pressure dependence of the Cu2O-CuO-Y2O3 phase diagram
Description
The phase diagram of Cu2O-CuO-Y2O3 under various oxygen partial pressures was investigated by thermal analysis. The compounds Y2Cu2O5 and YCuO2 exist stably depending on oxygen partial pressure. The pressure dependence of the transition temperature from Y2Cu2O5 to YCuO2 was made clear. The incongruent melting temperature of Y2Cu2O5 depends linearly on the oxygen pressure. The present ternary system includes three invariant reactions: L+Y2O3↔YCuO2+Y2Cu2O5 at 1383 K under 0.17 bar O2, L+YCuO2↔Cu2O+Y2Cu2O5 at 1353 K under 0.16 bar O2 and L↔Y2Cu2O5+Cu2O+CuO at 1320 K under 0.45 bar O2. Abstract (German)
