A comparison of T L responses of some commonly used T L dosimeters relative to gamma rays
Description
A comparison of T L responses of some commonly used T L dosimeters such as LiF: Mg, Ti/LiF:Mg,Cu,P/CaF2:Dy/CaF2:Nat/Ca SO4: Tm/Al2 O3: C and Mg2 Si O4:Tb was done at a test dose of 0.4 Gy of 60 Co gamma rays. Effect of the two different models of the PM tubes on the results of the T L sensitivities was studied for some of the above dosimeters. It was concluded that among all the dosimeters studied, Mg2 Si O4: Tb had the highest T L response for peak integration and height measurements and the discrepancies between the reported values for the sensitivities of the T L dosimeters are strongly due to the different spectral responses and quantum efficiencies of the PM tubes used in TLD readers
