Study of palladium sorbent behavior during its life cycle

Description

A procedure for sorbent preparation based on palladium used in the hydrogen isotope separation columns is described. The procedure consists in mixing palladium black with metallic binding material, pellet compaction, the pellets grinding to the required grain size and subsequent thermal treatment. Issues of the prepared sorbent granules fracture resistance in case of multiple hydrogenation and sorbent regeneration are discussed

Abstract (Russian)

Описана процедура приготовления сорбента на основе палладия, применяемого в колонках для разделения изотопов водорода. Процедура заключается в смешивании палладиевой черни с металлическим связующим материалом, прессовании таблеток, их дроблении до гранул нужного размера и последующей термической обработке. Обсуждаются вопросы стойкости полученных гранул сорбента к разрушению при многократном гидрировании и регенерации сорбента
