Induction linear accelerator with instrument for beam current measurement

Description
Induction linear accelerator (ILA) with a device for measuring the beam current is described. ILA comprises accelerating section inductors with their primary windings being connected to pulse modulators; magnetoinduction sensors, a transformation unit and a recording device. The invention is aimed at increasing the aceleration rate and reducing the transported beam losses. This is achieved by the fact that accelerating section inductor with a current transducer being additionally included into its primary winding is used as magnetoinduction sensor. Signal transformation unit is produced in the form of ILA equivalent circuit, comprising a pulse modulator, inductor equivalent transformer and current generator, comparison and amplifier circuits. The accuracy of beam current measuring in ILA using the proposed device makes up 10%
