Experiments on the transferability of creep crack growth laws to tubes

Description
The results of experiments on reformer tubes of an HTR (alloy 800 = Inconel 800) with a circumferential fault under tensile stress show good agreement for the C* values from the limit laod analysis technique and from numerical calculations of the EPRI handbook. It therefore seems to be justified to apply the limit load process to the pipe with a 180deg fault under bening stress. (orig./DG)

Die Ergebnisse der Versuche an Reformerrohren (Alloy 800 = Inconel 800) eines HTR mit umlaufendem Fehler unter Zugbeanspruchung zeigen gute Uebereinstimmung fuer die C*-Werte aus der Limit Load Analysis Technik und aus den numerischen Rechnungen des EPRI-Handbuchs. Daher scheint es gerechtfertigt zu sein, das Limit Load Verfahren auch auf das Rohr mit 180deg-Fehler unter Biegebeanspruchung anzuwenden. (orig./DG)Additional details
