Radiation protection accessories for medical use of X-radiation. Pt. 2: Quality control of protective clothes being in use

This document was prepared by the working committee NA 080-00-02 AA "Radiation protection" of the DIN Standards Committee Radiology (NAR). This standard is to be applied for the periodic quality inspection of radiation protective clothing in use for the protection of personnel against X-ray radiation with X-ray tube voltages up to 150 kV in medical radiology. The standard specifies test methods, characteristics and test intervals. This document replaces DIN 6857-2:2016-08. Compared to DIN 6857-2:2016-08, the following changes have been made: a) adaptation to the new Radiation Protection Ordinance, which came into force on 31 December 2018; b) introduction of a new test method using light; c) editorial changes.

Abstract (German)

Dieses Dokument wurde vom Arbeitsausschuss NA 080-00-02 AA "Strahlenschutz" des DIN-Normenausschuss Radiologie (NAR) erarbeitet. Diese Norm ist anzuwenden für die regelmäßige Qualitätsprüfung von in Gebrauch befindlicher Strahlenschutzkleidung, die dem Schutz des Personals gegen Röntgenstrahlung mit Röntgenröhrenspannungen bis 150 kV in der medizinischen Radiologie dient. Die Norm legt Prüfverfahren, Kennmerkmale und Prüffristen fest. Dieses Dokument ersetzt DIN 6857-2:2016-08. Gegenüber DIN 6857-2:2016-08 wurden folgende Änderungen vorgenommen: a) Anpassung an die neue Strahlenschutzverordnung, die am 31. Dezember 2018 in Kraft getreten ist; b) Einführung einer neuen Prüfmethode mit Licht; c) redaktionelle Änderungen.
