Study of physicochemical properties of ultradispersed boron nitride

Description
The results have been presented of the investigation of properties of superfine-grained boron nitride (SGBN). TEM methods show three types of particles different in morphologic characteristics. X-ray and microdiffraction techniques prove that SGBN are amorphous rather than crystalline which might be due to a small particle size and a great number of crystal lattice defects. IR and UV spectra of SGBN exhibit the presence of compositions similar to boronitrides together with hexagonal boron nitride. The data have been obtained on the specific surface of SGBN and its dependence on different factors. Adsorption of gases H2, N2, NH3, formed during the synthesis on SGBN, has been invesigated. It has been shown that NH3 gas is adsorbed almost one hundred more intensively than H2 and N2
