Very low energy geothermal: many assets to assert, and a sector to be developed. Synthesis of the seminar on Very Low Energy Geothermal: Opening plenary session and feedback from the 4 workshops

This document first proposes the contributions to the opening session of a seminar on very-low-energy geothermal energy: general issues, discussion of the different situations faced in geothermal energy, discussion of objectives and lessons learned of a study on very-low-energy geothermal in order to boost the sector. Then, it proposes feedbacks of the four workshops which addressed the following issues: financing, development, realities of the sector, and regionalization. The first one (financing) proposes observations on the sector maturity, on high installation costs, on the Heat Fund, on Energy Saving Certificates, indicates work directions and states some suggestions and ideas aiming at improving the situation. The second one (development) proposes observations on the sector, on its lack of credibility, and indicates work direction and states some suggestions and ideas. The third one (realities of the sector) formulates some remarks about the technical knowledge and situation of the sector, indicates work directions and states some suggestions and ideas. The fourth one (regionalization) formulates some remarks about the sector operation at the regional level, and also indicates directions and states suggestions and ideas for improvement. Exchanges of a debate and of a discussion session addressing some specific technical, training or funding aspects, and conclusion speeches are reported
