Theoretical description of radiation processes in polycomponent materials

  • 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad (Russian Federation). Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

A brief discussion is presented on the investigation results which make it possible to describe main processes in irradiated multicomponent materials for three interconnected stages of radiation damage. The application of radiation damage theory is under consideration among other things for determination of energy parameters of point defects and adsorption properties of structural sinks. The scheme of self-consistent equations for calculation of radiation process characteristics is given which covers dynamic, diffusion and sink evolution stages in irradiated materials. Theoretical approach developed in some papers reviewed along with thermodynamic calculations allowed one to estimate the role of secondary phase precipitation and the velocity of radiation swelling
