Description
To assess the optimal concentration of iodinated contrast for multidetector-row CT (MDCT) of the thorax, 196 examinations were prospectively performed after intravenously administering iohexol 240, 300 or 350 mgI/ml dose of 100 ml. In visual evaluation, iohexol 300 and 350 mgI/ml revealed better imaging qualities than 240 mgI/ml material. There was no significant difference between 300 and 350 mgI/ml iohexol. In the patients weighing less than 50 kg, even imaging quality obtained with iohexol 240 mgI/ml was not significantly different from that of the others. (author)
