Mass transfer and accretion disc flow in close binary systems

  • 1. Cambridge Univ. (UK)

Description

This paper investigates the gas flows associated with the mass transfer process and with the setting up of an accretion disc around the white dwarf (primary). The results obtained from numerical modelling of the gas flow are reviewed and ways in which optical observations of the systems can be used to test these results are considered. (Auth.)
