Description
Sizewell B, Nuclear Electric's recently completed pressurized water reactor, includes many sophisticated safety and control features. It shares the highly successful (in safety terms) design of the Wolf Creek and Callaway plants in the United States, all being based on the Westinghouse Snupps (Standardised Nuclear Unit Power Plant System) design. The Snupps design has been enhanced at Sizewell B to include a strong utility investment perspective. The close cooperation between Westinghouse and Nuclear Electric during Sizewell B, may lead to their possible mutual interest in the construction of the proposed twin-unit design proposed for Sizewell C.
