Description

The AZTLAN platform project is an initiative led by the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares (ININ) and brings together the main public institutions of higher education in Mexico (Instituto Politecnico Nacional, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana) in an effort to take a significant step towards autonomy of calculation in matters of nuclear reactors analysis. One of the main objectives of the project is the substantive strengthening of research and education institutions through the training of highly trained human resources in the area of analysis and design of nuclear reactors. In order for the developments to benefit national institutions in the first place, the developments are focused on the needs of the country, but they also actively participate in international projects doing border research and putting the name of Mexico on high. This article presents a brief review of the AZTLAN platform project with its main results. (author)
