Direct contribution to the 19F(p, α) 16O reaction

  • 1. Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan). Faculty of Science

Description

The excitation functions have been measured for the reaction 19F(p,α) 16O leading to the first several states of 16O in the incident proton energy range between 4.15 and 13.0 MeV in steps of 50 keV at thetasub(lab)=300, 700, 1200 and 1600. Ericson fluctuation analysis has been carried out and the fractions of direct reaction contributions in the differential cross sections have been deduced for the transitions to the ground state and to the first excited state of 16O using a probability distribution formula of differential cross section.
