Two critical points on the γ-α phase boundary of cerium alloys
- 1. Center for Materials Science, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87545
Description
It is shown that the P-T diagram for the γ-α phase transition in Ce/sub 0.8/La/sub 0.1/Th/sub 0.1/ has two critical points with first-order transitions between them. This phase diagram follows from the Fermi-liquid properties of the 4f electronic system, the experimentally known volume dependence of K/sub B/T/sub FL/, and the dilution effect of alloying
