Formation of η mesic nuclei and in-medium properties of hadrons
Description
We calculate theoretically the formation spectra of η- and η'(958)-nucleus systems induced by the (π, N) reaction in order to investigate the in-medium modifications of hadrons. By investigating the η meson-nucleus system, we can study the in-medium properties of the N*(1535) baryon resonance by means of the strong coupling of ηN to N*. As for the η'-nucleus system, the in-medium modification for the mass of the η' meson can be studied. We conclude that valuable information on mesons in the medium can be extracted from global structure of the missing mass spectra. (author)
